Trip to Monterey --Pacific Grove

So, walking to Aquarium was a lot of fun.

On the way, I came across a crowd of people looking at the shore through the fence. 

さて、水族館への道のりも楽しいひとときでした。

途中でフェンス越しに岸辺を見ている人だかりに出くわしました。

Turned out, it was a sight of a pod of seals laying on the sand. 

And look, what's the large branch like dark spot in the middle surrounded by cute baby seals? 

It was a one big elephant seal! Is he alive??

My exciting voice must have reached him,

he soon turned his head, maybe offended, looked like staring at me for a while just as 

to prove that he's alive.

視線の先には浜辺に横たわるアザラシの群。

おや、かわいい赤ちゃんアザラシたちが囲んでいる黒い大きな大木のようなのは何？

と思いきや、なんと、大きなゾウアザラシ！生きてるのかな??

私の興奮の声が届いたのか、のそっと頭をこちらに向け、失礼な、生きてるよ、

と言わんばかりにしばらくこちらを見つめていました。

Pacific Grove is known for fogginess and chilliness but such a luck,
it was warm and sunny the whole time during the stay.

霧と肌寒さで知られるパシフィックグローブなのですが、ラッキーなことに、
滞在中ずっと暖かかく、お天気に恵まれました。

Centrella Inn was such a charming victorian B&B hotel,

probablly the coziest accomodation with the friendliest service I have ever experienced. 

I found a little cute yellowish bird bathing in this grandpa looking? sea otter fountain in the garden.

B＆Bスタイルのセントレラインはとってもかわいらしいホテルでした。

心地よさとサービスのフレンドリーさでは今までで一番かも。

お庭のおじいさんみたいな？顔のアザラシの噴水で、かわいい黄色の鳥が水浴びしていました。

The famous sightseeing night spot in this time of the year is Candy Cane Lane where

every house is decorated with illumination. 

Despite the popularity, the lighting itself seems to get less and less every year...

Downtown Pacific Grove was also releasing some calm yet elegant glows.  

Now living in a city with larger population, I appreciate this one-of-a-kind

small town character much more than ever. 

この時期の有名な観光ナイトスポットといえば、キャンディ・ケーン・レーン。

全ての家がイルミネーションで装飾されています。

人気とは裏腹に、イルミネーション自体は年々淋しくなっている印象ですが。。。

ダウンタウンパシフィックブローブも静かながら、上品な光を放っていました。

人口のぐっと多い街で暮らす今となっては、こういうユニークな小さな町の個性

をこの上なくありがたく感じます。
