This was my lucky day.

Either he was tired or too busy grooming himself, he didn't mind me going closer with my camera lens directing at him.

When I took a last glance at him before leaving, he seemed dozing off.

It almost doesn't look like a hummingbird when he's not flying around like a bee.

お疲れなのか、毛繕いに忙しすぎなのか、レンズを向け近づいていっても全く気にせぬ様子。

立ち去る前にいま一度ちらりと盗み見たところ、うとうとまどろんでいるもようでした。

ハチのようにぶんぶん飛び回ってないと、ハチドリじゃないみたい。

I happened to see Chara's interview on tv the other day: http://www.fujisankei.com/video_library/interview/chara.php Chara is a Japanese musician who I liked a lot in my college days. The picture is taken at Marc Jacob's show in NY where she was invited and sat in a very competitive front row. In the interview, she mentioned that she feels overwhelmed to go to this kind of runway show except it's her friend's event and also she rarely travels abroad (it was her 3rd time visiting NY) since she has a fear of flying. Hearing her talk in a relaxed and down-to-earth manner, the memory hit me that I was very fond of her super unique style in music and fashion back then. Her 20-year career as a musician has been shining more and more as her spirits have been polished even more by her experience as a mother. Lastly, she comments that mother is one of the most creative jobs on earth.

大学の時大好きだったチャラ。上は、ニューヨークのマーク・ジェイコブスのショーに招待され、最前列にて観覧時のショット。インタビューの中で、ランウェイショーは、友達のイベントというのでなければ、なんとなく恥ずかしいのであまり行かないことや、飛行機は怖いので海外旅行はあまりしない（NYは3度目）ことに触れています。とってもゆったりとしつつしっかりと前を見つめる様子が伺われるトークを見ていると、彼女の個性的な音楽とファッションセンスが大好きだったあの頃を思い出しました。20年もの音楽活動はますます輝きを増し、母親として内面の強さにもぐっと磨きがかかっているチャラ。母親は一番クリエイティブな仕事だと思う、ともコメントしていました。

Soldering Process, Etsy Inspiration & Music

Now I got all the things that I need for soldering so after making sure the process by watching some instructing videos on YouTube and Beauducation.com, I lit on my torch. The first day was a disaster. The metal simply didn't get soldered together for some reason and the fuel kept running out. Turned out I got a wrong type of butane fuel can. Also the way I was aiming my flame on the metal wasn't right. Second day after many failures, I finally got the hang of it! Now I'm so addicted that time flies so quickly and at the same time it seems to wear me out pretty good. I get so tired and sleepy at night. Rings need more adjustment but post earrings are getting ready to finish. I have been making lots of treasuries lately also. Good music keeps me rolling.

さて、ロウ着に必要なものがすべて揃ったので、YouTubeとBeauducation.comでビデオを見てやり方を確認してからいよいよ灯火。初日は散々でした。メタルがひっついてくれず、すぐにガス切れに。どうやらブタンガスの缶の種類が違ったようで、しかも火の当て方も違うことが判明。次の日、更なる失敗を重ねた後、やっと分かりました！今や完全にはまってしまい、時の経つのが早いこと。と同時に、かなりエネルギーを消耗するらしく、夜はぐったりです。リング達はもっと修正が必要なのですが、ポストピアスの方はできあがりに近づいてきました。最近はトレジュリーもたくさん作るようにしています。よい音楽でモチベーションを保ちつつ。。。

My Favorite Performances from "The Voice"

I've been watching the music competition show called "The Voice" lately.
There's one more episode left and the winner will be selected out of four singers next week. I love music and also love to see people's passion. It's a good energy that all of us should share. 

Those are two of my favorite performances out of 8 contestants.

I usually listen to music while I create jewelry. Pandora radio gives me a chance of discovering good artists that I didn't know of. This song by Joshua Radin is very sweet!

There's a new art movement going on in Downtown Santa Ana.
Santa Ana Artwalk is also the event that's held once every month.
I've never been to this event but I walked around this new hip neighborhood the other day.
My favorites, Memphis Cafe and Gypsy Den Cafe are across the street from each other.
I am excited to see this art village to grow more and more in the future.

サンタアナアートウォークは月一で行われるイベント。
まだ行ったことがないのですが、先日はこの新しいお洒落スポットを散策してみました。
お気に入りのメンフィスカフェとジプシーデンカフェもお向かい同士。
このアートビレッジ、今後の更なる発展を期待しています。
