Here we are again in Santa Barbara.

またまたやって来ました、サンタバーバラ。

Thanks to the kind couple we met along the way, we found this gem.

The very quiet beach where you can relax.

The wind was chilly. Summer is ending soon.

It was fun going down the stairs (160+steps) but not as much going up!

There was a note on the board saying that there will be a construction to

replace those nice rustic wooden stairs with steel.

Bummer...

Good thing we could enjoy it before that happens. 

 The construction starts today and will continue for a few months.

途中で出会った親切なご夫婦のおかげで、このステキスポットを発見できました。

のんびりできる静かなビーチ。

風が冷たかったです。夏もそろそろ終わりですね。

階段（160何段とか。）は降りる時は楽しかったのですが、登るのはなんとも！

このいいかんじの古びた木の階段をスチール製に取り替える工事のお知らせが

掲示板に貼ってありました。

かなしいなあ。。。

せめてその前に堪能できてよかった。

工事は本日開始、数ヶ月続くようです。

Sunny Peaceful Day in Santa Barbara

It was a beautiful beautiful Saturday, the day we took a trip to Santa Barbara. I have been there a couple of times before but never spent enough time to explore this precious town. Now it became our second favorite town to visit in California!
(Monterey remains in first place!)

サンタバーバラ小旅行にと選んだ土曜日は、とってもとっても素晴らしいお天気に恵まれました。以前に何度か立ち寄ったことはあるものの、しっかり散策したことがなかったこのステキな町、今回の旅で私達にとってカリフォルニアで二番目に旅行したい町となりました。（一番は相変わらずモントレー!）

Sea Cliff, Ventura

It was also a perfect day for driving on 101 Ventura Freeway. The air was crisp and the view was incredible.

ベンチュラフリーウェイ１０１をドライブするにもバッチリな日和でした。空気はぱりっとすがすがしく、景色は抜群。

The French Press

Our first stop was a coffee shop called "The French Press" in down town. It was very cozy with a cute decor.


最初に降り立ったのは『フレンチプレス』というダウンタウンのコーヒーショップ。とってもかわいいインテリアでいいかんじでした。

La Arcada

After checking out this pretty hidden gem of La Arcada, we headed to the beach.

この隠れ家的なかわいらしいラ・アルカーダを探索した後、ビーチへと向かいました。

Driving straight on State Street to hit the beach!

ステート・ストリートをまっすぐビーチへ！

The beach was so wide open and so calm.

ビーチはとっても開放的で穏やかでした。

Taking a walk on the boardwalk,

ボードウォークをてくてく歩き、

Indulging this outstanding view....,

すばらしすぎる眺めを楽しみ・・・

And after greeted by Mr. Seagull,

カモメ君こんにちは、のあと、

Came back to the shore again.

またビーチまでてくてくと帰ってきました。

The beach trail was so long and beautiful. I say this is one of the best in California.

ビーチトレイルはとっても長くてきれいでした。カリフォルニアでも一二を争うのではないかと思います。

We ran into a nice little surprise along the way: the djembe performance! Cheerful beats and rhythm....we loved it. I wonder if there is any restaurant that performs a djembe live in OC. We would love to go.

ちょっとしたサプライズ：ジェンベの演奏に遭遇！元気が出るような鼓動とリズム・・・とってもよかったです。OCでジェンベのライブをやってるレストランがあったら行くんだけどなあ。

We enjoyed so much of this peaceful trip. Good bye for now, Santa Barbara. We shall be back!!

というわけで、とっても平和な旅となりました。バイバイ、サンタバーバラ。また会う日まで！！

P.S.  On the way back we stopped by Starbucks in Brentwood, West LA and it was a cute one!
