Beach Day

 

Late summer beach.

I go down the shore and just stand on the sand to watch the waves for a while.

The tourists (probably dad & son) walked in front of me & said "it's so cold!" with a shocked look on their face after dipping their feet in the water. I told them that water is always cold like this over here. That was exactly the same reaction when I first came to California!

The sun came out of the thick cloud as it started to reach the ocean.

Squirrel guys were nowhere to be seen this time, maybe were hiding from the noise.

晩夏のビーチにて。

いつものように、浜辺に降り、突っ立ってしばらく波を眺める。

父と息子かと思われる旅行者が前方に歩いて行き、足を浸して「冷たい！」と驚き顔で言ったので、ここの海水は一年中冷たいんだと教えた。まさに、カリフォルニアに初めて来た時の私の反応もこんなかんじだったな。

太陽が海に近づいていくころ、厚い雲の中から顔を出し始めた。

今回はリス君たちはお目見えせず。きっと喧騒から身を隠しているのでしょう。
