March Jewelry Making

March has been very busy with production and many orders.

A lot of hammering and torch firing going on in my studio.

Lots of metalwork, both sterling silver and gold & silver mixed metal work and also stone settings.

The month is half way passed and I’m trying to figure out how to spend the second half.

Probably making more bracelets.

3月はたくさんご注文をいただき、制作も忙しくていいかんじです。

作業場ではハンマーとバーナーが大活躍。

スターリングシルバーと、ゴールドとシルバーのミックス、そして石留めなど、

メタルいじりの日々。

今月も半分終わり。残りの半分をいかに過ごすか、、。

ブレスレットをもっと作るかな。

Also some rings.

I have a few ongoing custom order projects right now.

The ones on the left shown above are some of them.

These are small stones but once set, each one of them has such a big presence.

I can’t wait to complete.

完成が待ち遠しいです。

Oxidized Sterling, 14kgf Mixed Metal Jewels

Are you a fan of gold, silver, or mixed style?

Oxidized silver is my all time favorite because of its vintage chic rustic, raw feel.

 

I also like the oxidized silver & gold mix. Gold itself feels a bit too dressy for me but it adds a nice contrast & uniqueness when mixed with silver.

I have been a little short on gold items in my shop lately but will be creating more. As you see here, I try to maintain the hammered textured raw feel on the gold too. 

あなたはゴールド派？シルバー派？ミックス派？

わたしはいぶし銀のビンテージ風な荒削り感がずっと好きです。

いぶし銀とゴールドのミックスも好きです。

ゴールド単体だとドレッシーになるすぎてしまう、という場合はシルバーと組み合わせるといいかんじのコントラストと個性が増すように感じます。

最近はすっかりシルバーに偏りがちだったのですが、またゴールドも展開していく予定です。質感はシルバーと同様、荒削り感を出していこうと思います。
