End of April

April has been passing fast!

What I have been making this month is a mixture of minimalist metallic jewelry & colorful gemstone jewelry.

Herkimer diamond quartz jewelry & mixed metal pieces have been also popular.

I also had a few custom requests that helped me step outside my comfort zone.

For a personal wear, larimar stone has become my favorite healing stone.

Larimar is a rather earthy stone with a subtle blue tone that’s nothing sparkly or flashy.

I wasn’t particularly drawn to this stone but suddenly it started growing on me.

I’m planning to make something with this magical stone for my Etsy shop next month.

4月はあっという間に過ぎて行きました。

今月は、ミニマルジュエリーやカラフルな天然石ジュエリーなど色々制作しておりました。

ハーキマーダイアモンドやミックスメタルのスタイルも人気は衰えず。

何件かカスタムの依頼もいただき、なかなかよい刺激になりました。

個人的に身につけるものとしてはラリマーに癒しを見出しています。

ラリマーは、キラキラとした輝きからは程遠い、素朴な淡いブルーの石。

そんなに気になる石ではなかったのですが、突如じわじわと惹かれ始め…

来月は出品用に何点か作ろうかと思っています。

The weather is great lately and that makes the weekend adventure more pleasant.

Ocean breeze & baby rabbits... 

These tiny baby rabbits, by the way, like to hide under the prickly pear cactus. 

I wonder if they don’t mind the thorns!

They allowed me to get as close as a few feet but when I tried to get closer, got scared and jamped away.

Hope they’ll stay safe and healthy in the wilderness.

このところお天気がよいので、週末の散策も楽しみです。

海のそよ風やら赤ちゃんうさぎやら。

このかわいいうさぎちゃんたち、ウチワサボテンの下に隠れるのがお好きなようで。

トゲトゲもへっちゃらなのかしら。

かなり近くまで歩み寄っても平気な顔。でもさらに踏み込むと怖がって翔び去ってしまいました。

荒野で安全に元気でやっていくのだよ〜

Labradorite Jewelry, Mixed Stone Bracelets & Flower Love

The last custom request item of the month will be this long labradorite leather necklace along with the earrings.

I hope she’ll like & enjoy them for many years.

今週は今月最後のご依頼の品、このラブラドライトのネックレスとイヤリング(おまけ)を

仕上げました。気に入ってもらえて、長く使ってもらえるといいな。

And the project with this beautiful bi-color tourmaline need some time to think of...

I want to set the stone with the minimum coverage so it can be viewed from different angles to enjoy the different shades of ombré from pink to cognac.

そして、この魅力的なバイカラートルマリンはじっくり考えたいプロジェクト。

なるべく石を覆わない留め方にして、色んなアングルからこのピンク〜コニャック色のオンブレ(グラデーション)を楽しめるようにしたいと思うのですが、、。

Although I feel like we won’t have much time left till it goes straight to the hot summer,

the temperature has been still going up and down everyday.

Maybe we visit the beach this weekend if the weather is nice.

暑い夏があっという間に来てしまいそうな予感がするものの、

三寒四温な日々です。

週末お天気よければビーチに繰り出そうかな。

Spring Inspiration & Creativity

The arrival of spring has boosted my creative energy. 

They say the weather affects mood for some people and I’m one of them.

The sunset time is getting pushed later and later and maybe that has something to do with the motivation.

So this week, I worked on the requested items. (Except for the earrings shown above.)

These hand stamped bracelets were made for the shop in Carmel but also posted for sale on Etsy

as made-to-order so you can customize your own.

There will be free time for new items next week. 

I’m thinking of  bracelets and also some experiments with gold smithing.

春の到来に創作意欲を煽られる、、そんな今日この頃。

人によっては天候によって気分を左右されるとのことですが、私もまさにそうです。

日没もどんどん遅くなっているので、それもやる気に影響している気がします。

そんなわけで今週は、ご依頼の品に専念していました。(上のイヤリング以外)

ブレスレットはカーメルのお店用なのですが、Etsyにも出品していて、

オーダーメイドでカスタマイズが可能です。

来週は新作に時間を費やそうと思います。

ブレスレットや、ゴールドで試したいことなど考えてます。

I don’t know where they were during the winter but the mourning dove couple started 

showing up at my patio and looking very busy flying around and maybe making a nest. 

All the activities must make them hungry too, they are not shy at all about asking for food lately.

冬の間どこにいたのやら、嘆きバトがまたペアで現れるようになりました。

なにやらとても忙しそうに飛び回っていて、巣作りに励んでいるのかも。

あんなに活発に動いていたらお腹も空くのでしょう、

今までになく積極的にごはんのおねだりをしてくるのでした。
