William Mason Regional Park is never a place without birds.
American Coot's day goes like this:
Eating grass ⇄ flying into the water for bathing ⇄ drying wings ⇄ going back to eating grass
in a collective manner!
ウィリアムメイソンリージョナルパークは野鳥の絶えない場所。
アメリカオオバンの1日はきっとこんなかんじ：
草を食べる ⇄ 水中に飛び込み水浴び ⇄ 羽繕い ⇄ また草を食べる
集団行動を乱すべからず。
Some of the geese could get pretty aggressive towards human (hitting you with their long neck when walking by, etc) but these guys are quite calm and relaxed enough, maybe in a seasonal matter, to sit next to you to start taking a nap.
雁（カナダガン）の中にはけっこう人間に対して攻撃的な奴もいるのですが、（通りすがりに長い首で一撃してきたり、など）こちらの彼らはずいぶんおっとりしているのか、季節的なものなのか、すぐ隣にやってきてちょこんと腰を下ろしてうとうと、なんてことも。
Another resting mate.
こちらもお昼寝中のお二人。
Curlew was also busy gathering and pecking into the grass.
The beak must reach quite deeply.
シギも忙しく草をつついていました。
この長いくちばしでけっこう深いとこまで届くに違いない。
Here I met Egyptian Geese again.
またまたエジプトガンに出会いました。
Here's Ruddy Duck with the eye-catching blue beak that likes to dive in the water.
青いくちばしが目を引く、アカオタテガモ。
ダイビングがお好き。
And a little egret that may be looking for a fish.
What a pretty fluffy white feather.
随分と小ぶりなサギを発見。魚を狙っているのかな。
真っ白で、羽がふわふわしていてとてもきれい。
Then the buddy? showed up. I wonder what's going on here.
It's interesting how the seagulls approach to humans and the other kind of birds,
quite fearless or impudent!
お友達が登場。意味ありげなツーショット。
カモメって人間に対しても多種の鳥でもお構いなしの
物怖じしない（図々しい？）立ち居振る舞いが印象的です。
There were unusually many red eared sliders sun-bathing on the rocks.
They tend to get scared easily and jump into the water when being approached.
Meanwhile, there are a few warriors that don't move at all.
I met so many creatures today that seemed to be more than usual.
I look forward to another adventure.
今日は大量のミドリガメが岩場で日光浴しまくっていました。
怖がりなので、近づくと次々に水に飛び込んでしまいますが、
中には置物のように全然動かないツワモノも。
今日はいつもよりたくさんの出会いがありました。
次なる探索がまた楽しみです。
