Pelican Island

 

 

Sunday afternoon.

 

What's nothing but hypnotic is this: Watching a pelican clan on a small island in the middle of the marsh and hearing all kinds of birds chirping everywhere in the water and the sky.

Yet, the glittering direct sunlight blocks the sleepiness.

 

Because of the distance, how large these pelicans is not certain but comparing to these seagulls in front of them....they must be gigantic.

So very elegant and majestic they are.

I wish one of them would have swam near me or flew right above me, but no chance.

They are too comfortable over there.

 

Weekend passed so quickly!

New week will begin.

 

 

日曜の昼下がり。

 

沼地真ん中の小島に佇むペリカン一族を眺めながら、

方々から聞こえてくる鳥の鳴き声にまどろむも、ギラギラな直射に眠気を浚われる。

 

かなり距離があるので、ペリカンがどのくらい大きいのか定かではないものの、手前の

カモメたちと比べると・・・巨大。

なんとも優雅で荘厳な佇まい。

近くまで泳いでくるか真上を飛んでくれたらいいのになー。そんな気配はなし。

よっぽどそこが気持ち良いのでしょう。

 

週末はあっという間でした。

また新しい週の始まり。
