My brain has been pretty busy with new ideas that come and go lately.
Whether they are realistic or not, I try to write them all down so one day some of them could be useful. The jewelry findings arrived last Friday and have been a big help with completing some of the unfinished work.

Weekend passed so quickly but joyfully. My appetite, which was completely gone during the heavy heat wave, finally came back. Sudden cravings for clam chowder attacked and led me to Boudin SF in South Coast Plaza. Last time I ate this clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl was long long time ago at Monterey Fisherman's Wharf. I took my parents and they were shocked by the idea and the size of the meal. We couldn't finish the whole thing. I think Boudin SF's is smaller and lighter, should be enough for two people to finish but this time I felt like I could have had more even after finishing a bread bowl. I'm getting scared. Fall for appetite is true! Boudin SF seems to be eco-friendly & health conscious. They are trying to be more paper less or using recycled paper. Also they serve Numi tea. Very nocal. I like it.

After lunch, I had to stop by Barney's sibling, Barney's Co-op. This place is full of inspiration with casual & edgy high fashion. I liked new collection from Helmut Lang and Vince. They have very unique jewelry too.

新たなアイデアが行ったり来たり、頭がとても忙しい今日この頃です。
実現できるか否かは別として、ある日使えることがあるかもしれないので、とりあえず全部書き留めておこうと心がけています。ジュエリーの材料が先週の金曜日に届き、未完成の作品たちをだいぶ仕上げることができました。

週末はあっという間でしたが、楽しかったです。どうやら、酷暑期間にはまったく失せていた食欲が戻ってきた模様。突然、クラムチャウダーが食べたくなり、サウスコーストプラザのボウディンSF、行ってきました。丸いサワドーブレッド（酸味のあるパンです）につまったクラムチャウダーを最後に食べたのは、モントレーのフィッシャマンズワーフだったか、かなり前のことです。両親も一緒だったのですが、確かそのアイデアとボリュームに驚いてました。完食できなかったのですが、ボウディンSFのはもっと小さくて軽めな気がします。とはいえ、二人で食べて十分な量なはずなのに、今回はパンもしっかり食べ終わった後にさらにまだ食べれそうな勢いだったのです。ちょっと怖くなってきました。食欲の秋とはこのことですね。ボウディンSFはエコやヘルシー志向でもあるようで、ペイパーレスを心がけていて、使ってもリサイクルペーパーだったり、あと、紅茶&お茶もヌミというオーガニックのものだったりして、とても北カリフォルニアな雰囲気。気に入りました。

で、ランチの後、せっかくだからバーニーズコープに寄らねば、と。カジュアルでエッジーなハイファッションというかんじのインスピレーション溢れるバーニーズコープ。ヘルムートラングとヴィンスのニューコレクションがステキでした。とてもユニークなジュエリーもありました。

So now going back to the topic on the new projects, I have been wanting to adopt kimono accessories somehow into my design -naming like "wa" (meaning Japanese) series. The one getting closer to completion is this kimono string bracelet in combination with gemstones and silk thread. Finding a right type of closure is the last step. What I believe could make it look cheap or sophisticated is definitely up to a closure. So, it might take some more time to complete this piece. And this beautifully braided silk string is also looking for a nice closure finding.

さて、新しいプロジェクトの話に戻りますが、着物小物を新しいデザインに組み込みたいなあという思いがありまして。（名づけて和のシリーズ）完成に近づいているのは天然石とシルク糸を合わせた着物の紐（帯関係でしょうか？名称が分からないのですが・・）ブレス。これに合う留め具を見つけるのが最後のステップです。安っちくなってしまうか、洗練されたかんじになってくれるかは留め具にかかっているという信念の元、もう少し完成までには時間がかかりそうです。そしてこちらのきれいに編まれたシルクの紐も、いいかんじの留め具待ちです。
