On the weekend when it's sunny and we feel like we need a bit of relaxing time outside, we go to the local beach before the sunset and then to a calm cozy coffee shop nearby to warm up before heading home. (Yes, because the beach is usually very chilly in the evening around here...) We have been living in Southern California for almost 5 years after moving from Monterey, Central California. This place is full of diversity in every aspect, people wise, food wise, and material wise, which could be good and bad. The diversity could create chaos, giving us too many options that tend to keep us apart from a calm simple life. Choose wisely and keep it simple! That's what I've been learning here so far.
お天気がよくて、なんとなく外で一息入れたいかんじの週末は、日没前に近くのビーチに繰り出し、それからゆっくりできるカフェで温まってから帰ります。（そうなんです、こちらのビーチはたいてい夕方はかなり肌寒いので・・・・）中部カリフォルニアのモントレーから南カリフォルニアに引っ越してきて、5年が経とうとしています。ここはあらゆる面で多様性にあふれています。人の面でも、食の面でもマテリアルの面でも。よくも悪くも。多様性は混沌を生み出してしまう。多すぎるほどの選択肢を与えながら、穏やかなシンプルライフから私たちを遠ざけてしまいがち。賢明な選択をしながら、シンプルでいること!そんなことをここで学んでいます。
