Just got back from family trip to Ureshino, Saga Prefecture, Kyushu region in Japan.
Ureshino is said to have been known for a hot spring town since 200 A.D.
The water is one of the highest quality in Japan and is ranked top 3 in "skin beauty".
It is so syrupy that makes the skin so sikly moist and healthy shiny.
During the walk in the town, we found a shrine named after "Toyotama Princess" who is said to have helped an injured catfish that was actually a god and gave the princess the most beautiful skin.
This shrine is also pretty old, built back in 1500s.
The hotel we chose to stay is Hamilton Ureshino, nicely in "west meets east" style.
The lobby has a cozy lounge / library space where I found a perfect book to bring back to my room to relax with.
At the restaurant inside, we were served both dinner and breakfast that were made from
locally grown ingredients.
Bathing in the miraculous water was of course one of the best parts in this trip!
佐賀県の嬉野温泉への家族旅行から帰ってきたところです。
嬉野は紀元200年頃から知られるとされる温泉街です。
嬉野温泉は美肌効果として日本でも3つの指に入るとのこと。
そのとろっとしたお湯はお肌をつるつるに潤してくれ、ほんとにピカピカになりました。
街をお散歩していたところ、「豊玉姫神社」なるものを発見。
なにやら、怪我をしたナマズを助けたところ、そのナマズは実は神様で、豊玉姫を
美しいお肌にしてくれた、という言われがあるそう。
創立は1500年代に遡るという、古い神社でもありました。
お泊まりは、ハミルトン宇礼志野。大正ロマン風な素敵なお宿でした。
ロビーは心地のよいラウンジ（図書館）空間になっていて、
よさそうな本を見つけたので、部屋に持ち帰ってのんびりするのにピッタリでした。
ホテル内のレストランの夕食と朝食では、その土地で取れた食材で作られたお食事。
もちろん、例の奇跡のお湯に浸かるひとときはこの旅のハイライトでした。
