The other day I was asked by my family what this Etsy treasury thing is about.
I tried to explain but I don't think they understood.... Sorry for my horrible explanation as usual.......

Treasury is a member-curated gallery made of 16 different items from different shops that you previously marked as your "favorite" or stumble into by searching. The theme of the treasury could be anything but it's often color themed. Treasury is not intended for self-promotion but to share cool things currently for sale on Etsy. It's more like "indirect" promotion since selected treasury goes on top page on Etsy homepage then it becomes a huge exposure. Being a popular curator itself could be a great way to promote your shop. I'm not exactly sure how long each treasury is up on the top page but maybe for like 30 minutes or so? then the next lucky treasury comes up. There are also many treasury teams that focus on treasury making to promote each other. I'm in this fun team called "Treasury Challenge NonTeam" that provides a weekly contest. There is one selected inspiration item, which belongs to the previous challenge winner, that you include in your treasury. Entry starts on Thursday and closes on Sunday. The judge, the previous winner spends a few days to pick the winner of the week on Wednesday. It would be nice to be a winner one day but I enjoy the actual process of making treasury, wondering if it will catch the judge's attention. I entered my challenge #68 last Sunday. Let's see what happens.......

先日、「このEtsyのトレジュリーっていうのはいったい何？」と身内に聞かれました。説明したのですが、多分わからなかったと思われ、、、、いつもながら、説明下手でごめんなさい、、、、

というわけで、この場を借りてもっといい説明を、、、！

トレジュリーというのは、メンバーによるコラージュで、１６の枠に、以前から目をつけていたアイテムや、サーチでヒットしたアイテムなど、それぞれ違うショップから１６点選んで作ります。テーマはなんでもいいのですが、カラーのテーマが一番多いです。トレジュリーは自己プロモーションの道具というよりは、Etsyのステキ商品たちを紹介し合いましょう、という意図が大きいのですが、選ばれたトレジュリーはEtsyホームページのトップページに掲載され、そうなるとかなりの露出度なので、「間接的」プロモーションというかんじかな、と理解しています。人気のキュレーターになるというのもショップのプロモーションの一つですね。選ばれたトレジュリーがどのくらいの時間、トップページに留まっていられるのかははっきりは分からないのですが、３０分くらいでしょうか？それから次のラッキーなトレジュリーさんが登場します。また、トレジュリーでお互いのショップのアイテムを宣伝し合うことに精力的なチームもたくさん存在します。私はというと、「トレジュリーチャレンジノンチーム」という、週一でコンテストが行われるチームに参加しています。前回の優勝者のアイテム一点が「インスピレーション」として言い渡され、そのアイテムを含んだトレジュリーを作ります。チャレンジは木曜にスタートし、日曜に終わります。その後、前回の優勝者は数日間審査の時間を与えられ、水曜日に結果発表。一度は勝ってみたいものの、ジャッジの目に留まるかなあ、などと思いながらトレジュリーを作る過程が一番楽しかったりします。先週の日曜日、＃６８のエントリーをしたところです。どうなるかな。
