Sunny Sunday Afternoon

Seal Beach is located in the north tip of Orange County between 

Long Beach (LA county) and Huntington Beach (OC).

Sunny Sunday afternoon in this small quaint town was slow paced and very calm.

Brita's Old Town Garden is so dreamy where a friendly cat greets the visitors 

and hummingbirds and many butterflies can be seen flying around the blooming flowers.

The Crema Cafe is such a perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

I happened to get there near the closing time and 

was given a complimentary French baguette.

シールビーチはロングビーチ(ロサンゼルスカウンティ)と

ハンティングトンビーチ(オレンジカウンティ)の間に位置する、

オレンジカウンティ北端の町。

昔からあまり変わってないかんじの趣あるこの町で過ごす晴天の日曜の昼下がりは、

のんびり穏やか。

ブリタズ・オールドタウン・ガーデンに足を踏み入れると、

人懐こい猫ちゃんが迎えてくれ、ハチドリや蝶々が花の周りを飛び回っていたりして、

なんとも夢のような空間。

リラックスタイムにピッタリだったクリーマ・カフェ。

ちょうど閉店間際だったので、売れ残ったバゲットを一本くれました。

Pier was very crowded but a little distance makes it a lot cozier.

It was very windy but the temperature was perfect.

I've never been in the water above my feet in California and I might never be...

but a lot of people were enjoying the high waves near the shore.

ピアの方は混み混みだったものの、少し離れるとこんなにゆったり。

風は強いけれど気温はちょうどよし。

カリフォルニアの海では足から上は浸かったことがなく、

おそらくこの先もそうだと思うのですが、、高波と戯れている人多数でした。

Stopped by the lake to see what's new.

Once again, thanks to the good timing, 

a family of geese were swimming from the other to land on this side.

It's Egyptian geese this time, not Canadian.

Goslings come out of the water, one by one, totaled 14!

What a big family.

あれから何か変動はあったかな、とレイクに立ち寄ると、
またいつものようにタイミングよく向こう岸から御一行様の姿が。

でも今回はカナダ雁ではなく、エジプト雁。

岸に次々と上がってくるヒナたちを数えてみると、なんと14羽!

すごい子沢山〜〜〜

The way the parents watch kids is the same as Canadian's 

that I encountered last time. →Link

They both keep the containing attitude towards dogs, small children and other birds 

by raising the quacking voice whenever they come into sight.

Remember the last time, it was Canadian goose dad 

defeating Egyptian goose with insistence.

This time was completely opposite. Canadian geese near the scene 

didn't fight back the Egyptian goose dad's attack but simply left.

I wonder if they have an agreement in bird's world 

where the parents with kids are given authority to be bossy.

親雁たちの子供を守る様子は、前回見たカナダ雁と全く同じ。→リンク
犬と小さい子と他の鳥たちへの牽制態勢を崩さずガッチリガード。

前回あんなにカナダ雁にしつこく追い払われていた立場が逆転し、
近くのカナダ雁たちを執拗に追い回すエジプト雁。
カナダ雁たちは大人しく立ち去っていました。

子連れは権威を持つという鳥界の暗黙の了解なのかな。

それにしても、ヒナたちふわふわで可愛かったな。

いっぱい食べて大きくなるんだよ。
